We are thrilled to announce that the first cohort of students in the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master PROMISE program graduated from Leoben, Austria, on June 20. On August 29, the University of Oulu awarded them their degrees. This outstanding group of 20 students also obtained certifications from the University of Zagreb in Croatia and specialized diplomas from Federico Santa Maria Technical University in Chile.
Each graduate has completed a Master of Science in a multiple-degree format, earning 120 ECTS credits through the ERASMUS-EMJM-UN Project (101050446). Additionally, many students worked with our partner companies to complete their theses outside of academia, applying their innovative skills and knowledge in real-world settings.
These graduates are among the few specialized professionals in mineral concentration and extractive metallurgy in the EU, focusing on metallic and industrial minerals, as well as waste processing. They have benefited from a unique curriculum that covers the entire mineral processing value chain, including:
- Industrial mineral processing and bulk solid engineering
- Advanced concentration techniques
- Plant design
- Urban mining and recycling
- Key skills in entrepreneurship, leadership, innovation, and digitalization
With a strong foundation in both academic theory and practical application, our graduates are well-prepared to lead in this dynamic field. Please visit our website for more information about the curriculum and program details.
