With the conclusion of the IMPRC2025 conference, we at the EMJM Consortium are proud to highlight the achievements of our alumni Seyed Hamzeh Amiri and Molud Nazeri, both from the third cohort of our program. They presented their research at the XIV International Mineral Processing and Recycling Conference, held in Belgrade, Serbia, from May 28–30, 2025.
Seyed Hamzeh Amiri: Process Optimization in Iron Ore Concentration
“Grade Improvement of Iron Ore Concentrate by Applying Plant Audits, Standardization, and Process Optimization.”
This study focused on identifying operational bottlenecks and improving the quality of iron ore concentrate in a case study plant. The research involved a comprehensive evaluation of the grinding and magnetic separation stages, including equipment such as ball mills, hydrocyclones, and low-intensity magnetic separators.

Molud Nazeri: Leaching Kinetics of Zinc Silicate Ore
“Dissolution Kinetics of Low-Grade Zinc Silicate Ore in Hydroxide Solutions.”
Her research investigated the leaching behavior of a low-grade zinc silicate ore using concentrated sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solutions. The study examined the effects of various parameters—including reaction time, temperature, NaOH concentration, and particle size—on the zinc dissolution rate.

As a program, we are thrilled to witness the progress and growing impact of our students in the field of mineral processing. Their dedication and scientific contributions continue to reflect the core values and excellence of the EMJM Consortium. We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to María Sinche and Claudio Acuña, who participated as representatives of the PROMISE Consortium. Their presence and support helped reinforce the strong collaborative spirit behind our shared mission of advancing sustainable mineral processing.
